The epic tale of Hanuman, the divine monkey warrior, is a cornerstone of Thai mythology, immortalized in the national epic, the Ramakien—Thailand's vibrant adaptation of the Indian Ramayana. Born the son of the wind god Phra Phai, Hanuman is blessed with immense power, including the ability to change his shape and size at will and to fly. His most celebrated feat is leading the forces to the island of Lanka to rescue Nang Sida (Sita) from the clutches of the mighty demon king, Thotsakan (Ravana).
